Regrettably, this Beauty Ambassador had to turn down an exclusive invitation.

I was really surprised when I got an email from HiShop yesterday! I received my very first invitation (and they addressed me, "Dear Beauty Ambassador" and I love the sound of it!) to attend an exclusive beauty product launch early next month. As usual for any new product launching, there will be introduction and demonstration of the products. Lucky thing for each attendees, they will be given the products for free for review.

However, I won't be able to attend without mentioning the 2nd reason (OK. I skip telling you the 1st reason here). I tweeted about it and [livejournal.com profile] hemisofia tweeted me back saying, "why not? you could've been one of those paid bloggers!" Well, the 2nd reason not to is because they stated the event will be fully conducted in Mandarin. I don't know any Mandarin. That is really one regrettable reason :/

So, I politely turning down their offer via email saying thanks and told them how delighted I was to be invited. In the end of the email, I wrote, "I look forward to seeing you on another occasion." Sign off. Less than one hour later, they replied me saying, "Thanks for informing. It's alright, hope to see you in future events!"

Yeah, right! Count me in!! :DD

oh, it's nice to have invites

well you will feel out of place when all of the people speak in their own language

at least the organizer is courteous enough to say details like that, unlike some other invitations where you decided to go and yet it's not really welcoming to foreign guests

yes, maybe in the future :D

Yeah... it was very thoughtful of them :) Or else it would be really awkward because for sure I would be the one who stand out the most!

For this one, I guess the product marketers are from China/Taiwan or Hong Kong and the target buyers most probably are Chinese too, that's why.

oh I see, that's why

maybe in the future you could go to their event too

I see you're on your way to becoming a beauty blogger. :) That would've been cool but I get how not being able to understand anything at the event would've gotten in the way. Their PR firm seems nice though.

Yes, they are :) Plus, I'm not really a 'qualified beauty blogger' unlike others, so when they invited me I was surprised! I do like makeup, fashion and things like that also free stuff especially makeup. If I get one, I don't mind to write review on it. Am I becoming an actual beauty blogger? Not so sure because I'm passive when it comes to buying things using my own money xD

Hehe. It'll be up to you if you want to pursue it. But it is kind of a good hobby though. :)

Agree with you about hobby :)
Writing reviews in a way may help people to judge themselves about the product and it would be good to enhance my writing skills I guess. Let see what may happen next!

But after a couple of posts, I think my LJ is a whole mess-up! xD

Haha! Who knows you might need to start a new blog for it? :D

To regularly update this LJ is already a challenge to me (-.-")
